• Clean the countertop with warm water and a few drops of mild or antibacterial dishwashing detergent. Rinse the surface thoroughly and dry with a warm soft cloth. Do not use abrasive dry or soft cleaners. We sell a Mira Clean product which you can use - $8.00 per quart.
• Stones can take hot pans-but not too hot! Avoid placing anything with hot cooking oils on the countertop.
• Avoid cutting directly on the stone. It does not hurt the stone;
but it dulls the knives.
• Make sure your installer applies a non-toxic penetrating sealer on the countertop—already done by Krukowski Stone Co., Inc.
• Countertops should be resealed every one to two years for light colors, longer for dark colors. We sell a porous plus 511 impregnator—this was applied originally. You need to reseal every 1-3 years. Porous plus cost $75.00 per quart.
• You should be careful with your natural stone counter. Oils, makeup and lipstick may penetrate the seal. If this happens we do sell kits to remove stains.
